Walkability as an instrument of integration of wellbeing public policies

Carolina’s research looks forward to the approach of walkability, its definition, origin and constraints; walkability inserted in the context of TOD; walkability as a public policy; the different systems of urban management to promote walkability integrated with other public policies in other to increase wellbeing and Health in urban environments.
From this research, it looks forward to confront walkability with the use of the automobile in the urban territory and compare with reality in others European similar contexts. In this way, it would be found some succeed practices of the increment of the pedestrian mobility in urban masterplans and urban mobility masterplans, seeking the applicability in governmental contexts.
